ROUSSOS is collaborating with a local Adelaide council to engage a Team Leader for their Technical & Engineering Services team. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in overseeing the provision and renewal of civil infrastructure assets, offering technical support across various sectors such as roads, stormwater, traffic control devices, footpaths, bridges, public lighting, and bus stop infrastructure. With a commitment to delivering positive outcomes for the local community, the candidate will contribute to a collaborative team culture. In this leadership position you will be involved in the strategic growth and succession plan of the council.
The role
As Team Leader, you will report directly to the Manager of Technical and Engineering Services as you lead a small team to ensure adherence to service delivery standards, policy development, budget planning, and operating procedures within specified timeframes and budget constraints.
The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience in leading technical and engineering professionals, with a background in civil engineering, traffic / transport management, or asset management. Effective communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships are crucial. Prioritisation skills, the ability to meet competing deadlines, and the capacity to work with minimal supervision are key attributes. As Team Leader, you will also demonstrate an effective and flexible approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution, along with sound financial acumen.

The role

- Providing leadership and mentorship to the team for their development and knowledge growth.
- Developing and implementing capital works plans and programs for infrastructure and environmental assets, identifying future capital, maintenance, and operating budgets.
- Assessing the Council's current and future needs related to infrastructure and the environment through data collection and analysis, establishing service levels and standards aligned with the Council's strategic directions.
- Actively steering the delivery of the annual business plan, 90-day plans, and Individual Performance Plans
- Cultivating a culture of continuous improvement by collaborating with the team and other internal stakeholders.
