Job description
This multi-award-winning, mid-tier building contractor, based in Adelaide, is seeking a highly skilled Site Manager with experience managing projects up to $20M. While the largest projects typically reach $20M, the majority fall within the $3M–$12M range.
The Role
A proven track record in managing technically complex projects in hospitals, laboratories, aged care facilities, retail or commercial is essential. Some projects may be smaller, ranging from $0.5M to $3M, but they require a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable delivering complex fit-outs and refurbishment projects valued between $2M and $5M, as well as handling larger $20M design and construct (D&C) new builds.
To be considered for this position, you must come from a carpentry trade background and have progressed through the ranks, holding roles such as Leading Hand, Foreman, and General Foreman, before advancing to Site Manager. The projects you will manage vary from new builds to fit-outs and refurbishments, many involving complex services and significant structural components.
The Like Mind
This role is best suited to someone with considerable experience in new build construction, who is also open to managing fit-out and refurbishment projects when needed. The ability to work in occupied buildings and engage effectively with clients and the public is crucial, as many projects involve active environments.
This is a long-term opportunity with a company that values stability and invests in its people. They never hire on a contract basis, preferring to build lasting relationships with their team members. The organisation has a strong pipeline of projects, making this an excellent choice for job security and professional growth.
The company is known for its supportive culture and strong talent retention.
