The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative Tier 1 commercial contractor. Operating for more than 100 years in the industry, this award-winning company is recognised for the iconic projects that they deliver on across a variety of sectors including commercial, health, retail, hotel, and defence. For the team they offer genuine support, and commitment to flexibility and stability, which has contributed to maintaining lengthy tenures within the team. With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects in the works, this business is looking for a driven HSE Advisor to join their team and drive the implementation of safety management systems across the business.
 
The Role

As HSE Advisor, you will be supporting site personnel and ultimately be responsible for fostering a culture of safety. Your duties will include but not be limited to:
  • Implement safety management procedures
  • Uphold an awareness of WHS legislation, guidelines, and risk management in relation to the building industry
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are maintained to reflect legislative requirements
  • Conduct site inspections and audits
  • Coordinate incident investigations and required reporting
  • Provide safety education and training
  • Assist in development of hazard and risk identification processes and controls  
The Ideal Candidate

The successful HSE Advisor will have a Certificate IV in WHS and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role with a commercial construction contractor. You will have extensive knowledge of the current legislation and risk management processes, in addition to an understanding of quality, health, and safety management systems. An up to date First Aid Certificate will also be beneficial. Additionally, you will possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Most importantly, you will have a strong ability to build solid working relationship with employees and stakeholders of all levels.
