ROUSSOS are partnering with the City of Tea Tree Gully, a large metropolitan Council that is located northeast of Adelaide in beautiful natural surrounds and open spaces. With 350 staff across a diverse range of areas and locations, they are committed to making a difference to the lives of their residents by improving the community. Due to continuous business growth and exciting changes to its structure and services, they are now looking to engage a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Technical & Engineering Services team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a specialist team in the development and delivery of works programs, design plans, strategies and techniques for the provision and renewal of civil infrastructure assets including roads, stormwater, traffic control devices, footpaths, bridges, public lighting, and bus stop infrastructure.
  
The role
As Senior Civil Engineer, you will report directly to the Manager of Technical and Engineering Services. You will lead a small team to ensure service delivery standards, policy development, budget planning, and operating procedures are achieved within given timeframes and budget. Your role will also include but not be limited to:
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to your team to development and grow their knowledge.
  • Develop the implementation of capital works plans and programs for infrastructure and environmental assets that identify future capital, maintenance, and operating budgets.
  • Determine Council's current and future needs in relation to infrastructure and the environment through the collection and analysis of data, develop and implement appropriate service levels and standards that align with Council's strategic directions.
  • Proactively drive the delivery of the annual business plan, 90-day plans and Individual Performance Plans to enable effective delivery of organisational strategic plan objectives.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture by working collaboratively with your team and other internal stakeholders.  
The ideal candidate
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in providing leadership to a team of technical and engineering professionals. You will have prior experience working in the sector of civil engineering, traffic management or asset and financial management. Highly developed communication skills to establish and maintain working relationships will be key. You will have the ability to prioritise tasks and meeting competing deadlines and the ability to work with minimum supervision. As Senior Civil Engineer, you will display an effective and flexible approach to problem solving and conflict resolution and sound financial acumen.
