As a recruiter for the construction, property, architecture, engineering, and civil industries, I love to spend my days helping people take the next steps in their careers.
But beyond the day-to-day, there are steps in my own life that I place huge importance on. One of these is participating in the Jodi Lee Foundation Trek – literal steps that changes lives and even saves them.
The Jodi Lee Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to encouraging Australians to take active steps in preventing bowel cancer. It works tirelessly to raise awareness about this deadly disease, which is the second most common cause of cancer-related death in Australia. This year alone, an estimated 15,500 people will be diagnosed with bowel cancer, which remains the leading cancer killer among 25-44-year-olds.
This age group represents a significant portion of the talented individuals we support in their careers, making raising awareness and encouraging everyone to take the bowel screening test deeply personal and essential to us.
This year, the two-day trek will be held over the 16th and 17th of May in the stunning Encounter Bay and Myponga region.
Having participated in the JLF Trek for seven years, I’ve experienced firsthand the power of perseverance, the strength of camaraderie, the importance of maintaining good health, and the profound impact of taking action for something bigger than ourselves.
If there's one thing I know about the people in the industries I work with, it’s that they have the resilience to rise to challenges and the passion to build a brighter tomorrow.
I’m calling on you to step up and champion a team!
Who’s with me?
